Below is a text message from another contractor I had to call yesterday to correct work previously completed by Chicago Home Revisions. This was a six-figure, full renovation that included a brand-new kitchen, and the back stairs were supposed to have been reinforced and repaired for ongoing use. Over the past several months, I’ve had to hire multiple contractors to come in and remedy significant deficiencies in their work. Work completed today: - Installation of new hinges on a cabinet that needed repair. - Adjusted each individual cabinet (almost 2/3 of the cabinets were loose and asymmetrical). - Repaired the railing on the outside. - Installed broken steps, and I also checked and secured each individual step with professional screws and nails (the lady from the top floor checked the quality of the work done on the stairs, and she also said that there is no time to repair the sink right now).

The renovation itself appeared to go smoothly and the team was pleasant to work with during the project. At the time, I had no major complaints and even spoke positively about the experience. Unfortunately, once the unit became occupied, a different reality emerged. Since my tenant moved in, 3 months ago, I have had repeated issues tied directly to poor installation and workmanship including doorknobs repeatedly coming loose or falling off altogether and now a kitchen cabinet door detaching under normal use. These are not cosmetic or minor punch-list items; they are basic installation failures. I have had to send additional people out to correct work that should have been done properly the first time. Most concerning, after raising these ongoing issues directly, John has stopped responding to my emails altogether. I wanted to leave a balanced review because the initial experience seemed positive but the true test of a renovation is how it holds up in real use and unfortunately this has been one headache after another. I would proceed with caution.

We recently used Chicago Home Revision to remodel two bathrooms in our home and cannot say enough good things about our experience. John and Michael were responsive, considerate, very communicative, helpful and easy to work with. They made great suggestions when we asked and were careful to listen to all of our questions and concerns along the way. We always knew what was happening and when they were coming (which was very consistent). The person that worked at our home as the lead was Mario and he was fabulous. He made sure everything was as tidy as could be - he even vacuumed everyday after the workers left. He protected all of our furniture and stereo equipment. He's also just a great person to have in your house day after day - funny, kind, considerate....he really made the process much more bearable. We love the finished bathrooms and highly recommend this company if you are searching for a team that is not only reasonably priced but also a pleasure to work with.

I am thrilled with the results of Chicago Home ReVision. John, Vasile, and team are top notch. Thorough and knowledgeable. The work they completed is beautiful, even other contractors have complimented on how well their install was. I had nearly a full gut of a town house, 2 bathrooms, kitchen and 2 bedrooms. I would highly recommend and certainly use them for home construction again. There were a few delays, which I expected, but they worked with me on alleviating.
